What does the acronym SIPF stand for?

SIPF, is an acronym for, Serving In Paradise Foundation.

Is Serving In Paradise Foundation a registered non profit?

Yes, Serving In Paradise Foundation is a registered non-profit organization.

I have a disability – can I join an SIPF experience?

SIPF is an inclusive, safety and people first organization. We commit to making voluntourism accessible for all those who wish to make a difference, regardless of ability or disability. Due to the often limited availability of resources in underlooked communities, we do ask that you carefully consider whether you are physically and/or mentally able to participate in activities that may put strain on your health.

Where we can we will make reasonable adjustments to the logistics of our experiences to facilitate the requirements of travelers with disabilities – such as booking ground floor accommodation, or having our leaders communicate important directions in writing as well as verbally.

Are SIPF experiences suitable for LGBTQI travelers?

It’s important for our travelers to be aware of the local laws and customs in the destinations we visit as some countries have laws that discriminate against LGBTQI people. We don’t tolerate any form of discrimination, violence (verbal or physical), or sexual harassment, either between travelers or involving our leaders, vendors or local people.

What is Voluntourism?

Tourism in which travelers do voluntary work to help communities or the environment in the places they are visiting.

Can I do leisurely activities while on a trip?

Absolutely! Serving In Paradise Foundation Voluntourism Experiences consist of a combination of exploration of the destination and volunteering within communities that have been greatly impacted by lack of basic resources.

Where do I find essential travel information?

Information on your travel experience can be found on our website, however, intimate details regarding the trip will be provided within a Pre Departure Guide provided prior to the start of the trip.

Do I need to be able to speak the local language?

Language requirements vary from country to country and can depend on the type of project you are participating in. We aim to make our experiences inclusive of every person. Where there is a language difference, we will have an interpreter present to assist with communication.

What happens if a voluntourism experience is canceled?

In the unlikely event a voluntourism experience is canceled, you will be immediately notified via email of the postponement of the experience.

Is it mandatory to raise money in order to join a voluntourism experience?

It is not compulsory for you to raise money in order to participate on a voluntourism trip. However, if you so chose to raise funds, it would be greatly appreciative to the community in which we will be serving.

Can I make a donation instead of traveling to an experience?
